Well I have had my new  KitchenAid dishwasher for about a week and I am happy to report it does an excellent job.

I am still not thrilled about the tall tub. I did put my wooden cutting board in there just to try it out & it does fit nicely. However, it also dries out the board and required a lot of oiling, so I won't be doing that again. I will add that I think that adding two inches rather than 4  to the height of he tub would have allowed a number of other slightly larger items to be placed in the dishwasher, but would have not lowered the appliance to such an extent that it required more back strain. It would have been a happy compromise. Perhaps that will change the next time dishwashers are redesigned.

An added note about LG dishwashers; a well informed source, who shall remain nameless ( to protect his job) told me that  LG has had nothing but problems with the LG Dishwasher. In the short amount of time it has been on the market it has been redesigned 3 times!  I believed he termed it " he worst dishwasher on the market." I don't know if that is true, but it didn't do a good job on my dishes and there were, of course, the rest of my complaints in the last article. He wouldn't have one in his kitchen  nor would he put one in for his mother.

Good enough for me. And I fell vindicated!

One thing I forgot to mention in the previous article is the new design for the  placement   of the dishwasher controls.  Some companies are putting them on the very top 1 & 1/2 inch band that closes under the counter.  On my counters it fits right out of sight and that can be a problem both to program.. you always have to open the door to program the washer and if your dishwasher happens to be very quiet. When you barely hear it run and you cannot see any lights or lack there of, if your dishwasher isn't running it may not be apparent to you. Three hours later after you thought you ran the cycle through and you are getting ready to unpack the dishwasher, you may find that you have a tub full of  dirty dishes yet.
